To help improve air quality an Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) will be in place in central London as of 8^th April 2019. The easiest way to check if your vehicle is subject to the ULEZ is by using the TFL website and simply entering the vehicles registration. The charges for ULEZ are as much as £12.50 a day for cars, vans and motorbikes and up to £100 for lorries buses and coaches. It will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year as stated on the London Gov website.

From October 2021 the ULEZ will expand to the North and South Circular.

Even if you find your vehicle is exempt from the ULEZ charge all cars must still pay the congestion charge, this is £11.50 per day only if you are driving through the centre of London between the hours of 7AM and 6PM, Monday – Friday. In 2021 all remaining hybrid owners will have to pay the congestion charge.

Luckily for County customers the ULEZ fees are avoidable as most of our wide range of low emission cars, vans and trucks are Euro VI compliant. Ask your rental sales advisor for further details.
